Dr. Zhang AI#3?

My LLMD wants me to take Dr. Zhang AI#3 for herxing, except, I'm not sure what it is or what it's supposed to do. I hate taking things with little information about them. It's all herbal, but what's it generally used for? I can't seem to find any info online - I notice research is more difficult when I'm herxing.

Does anyone have any experience with AI#3? Good, bad?

I found the ingredients:

Extract of Mucuna birdwoodiana, Tutcher Stem, Sargentodoxa cuneata, Oliver Rehder adn Wilson Stem, and Paederiae scandans

I have no idea what those herbs are. You probably have to look them up individually........

It also says:

AI#3 Capsules: Herbal extracts to help control autoimmune aspects of Lyme disease and mitigate Herxheimer’s reaction (symptoms resulting from die-off of the microbes that cause Lyme and associated tick-borne infections). Analgesic.

If you decide to go with the product purchase from Zhang's site for a much better price. www.hepapro.com/ Note the bottle is only a 16 day supply. His products are expensive but the one's I used worked really well.

Per Zhang's book: AI #3 Capsule Dosage:
1 capsule 3x/day with meals. For higher dose, 2 caps in AM, 1 at noon and 2 in PM.
Caution: This capsule should only be used for reducing the severity of Herx reaction, or for joint pain, skin rash, autoimmune reaction and allergies. It should be stopped after these symptoms are no longer present. The treatment course with this remedy should be LIMITED TO THREE MONTHS. If treatment must be resumed, wait at least one month before resuming use.

It's worth noting that Zhang's book "Lyme Disease and Modern Chinese Medicine" is a good read. Of all the Lyme books I've read, it's the most succinct and concise book there is and for that, I'm grateful. It's also printed in a fairly large font so is easier to read with Lyme brain. His approach of course, is just one of many but it's not in any way a daunting read. I found it to be quite uplifting, understandable and hopeful.

10LymeB -- did you end-up trying this herbal remedy? Did it work for you? My LLMD just suggested it as well. Curious to know if it helped you.

I took it for about 3 months. I honestly can't say whether it helped or not. I definitely didn't notice any big improvements to herxing or feelings in general.
