Hello. I have been sick with Lyme for over 20 years now. I have on occasion eaten really salty meals such as very salty ham sandwich or ham steak. Within one hour after eating this high salt meal I amazingly started feeling so much better. My energy levels came back. My legs were stronger. The malaise went away. It is short lived but salt must do something to help the body. I do not know if it is the sodium or the chlorine part of the salt. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them?
Be well.
i don't want to be a show stopper, but u know this disease does cycle on its own, so u can get better and then worse without doing anything special. You need to take notes and keep a log of your symptoms for several weeks/months to notice differences. Otherwise i see my symptoms going up and down all the time. In the begining i was very excited and always linked this to something i ate or did last week/yesterday. After noticing this cycle, i am now MUCH more careful before declaring eureka moments over anything i do.
Hope u get better, and btw there IS some link between hi salt intake and Borrelia losing some of its aggressiveness:
/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26480895www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=3561332i consider it quite dangerous treatment as it puts a huge strain on your body as you really need to eat A LOT of salt... but nevertheless.... it does help.
