Coartem: Need advice

I am going to take 4 pills of Coartem 20/120 2x/day this upcoming Mon/Tue/Wed. I'm currently living at home with my parents and they help with my Lyme. They will be out of town during this 3 day span. What should I expect? Will I be knocked off my butt for a week? I also have a dog I will need to take care of and I'm worried I won't be able to get up to walk her. I'm thinking of hiring a dog service for the week. If anyone can share their experience with Coartem that would be great. I've heard it knocks you out but it also really goes after the bugs.

I always google side effects and see what is listed. In almost all cases it is hives, itching, swelling of mouth, throat. Chills, fever and headache.

The advice is to call the doctor if any of those happen.

For you, I think you should call your doctor's office and tell them exactly what your post says and see what the doctor says. Explain to the nurse your concerns and she will tell the doc and then someone will call you back.

It would be so much better to hear what a medical doctor says. Make sure you ask about possible herxheimer reactions. Ask them what you should look for and what should you do if you have one.

Then please come and tell us what they say...... There are enough people here that know and can advise you if the doctor is giving you good advice. But, first give the doctor a chance.
