yeah, marijuana would be great but not legal here, I have no way of getting it.
I'll look into Kava kava-forgot about
that one and we actually have some on hand.
well, first step is to divide doses, will probably try to start that tomorrow night (it takes time to match the crumbs and pieces to the right size)
Though she's been screaming all night, it's actually been better. We decided to avoid that whole back door drama thing (initially it diffused her emotion, but then it didn't work and set her off on a tantrum, was very scary) and managed to do so except for 8pm. But her tantrum wasn't as bad. No attacks.
I think this whole thing got so scary b/c she started attacking and for a small person, she's strong--kind of like when you hear of people doing super-human things b/c adrenalin. When she's terrified of something, she will fight to avoid it--it took five people at the hospital to hold her down and get bloodwork. Not sure I mentioned it, but I think in addition to the interdose withdrawal, she has a real phobia of nighttime and wants to get out b/c that's when she thinks she might get diarrhea (terrifies her--she'd prefer death for sure).
Thanks again to all here. Lots to think about
. Thanks for the ideas. I posted this update over at benzobuddies at the same time as here and have yet to get a response.
The other aspect of this that makes me terrified is that it's just me and my elderly parents (78 and 80), who are not in the best of health. We're all hanging by a thread just trying to stay alive--if any one of us is out of commission this won't work.
Also, we have a consult in the works w/Dr. Sherry Rogers, but it will take some time. Have to fill out paper work, send back, then appointment will be set--so not helpful for the current emergency conditions.
Forgot to add, how crazy is it that marijuana is NOT legal, yet these benzo poisons are.
Also, just found this in a comment (not to me) over at benzobuddies:
"Gabapentin is a double edged sword - it can greatly help some, but seriously set back others. It works on similar receptors in the brain, so if I were you, i would just hold where you are at and wait for my system to restablize. "
Ugh, options are fading. Guess we'll focus on splitting the dose and see if that helps. She's been hysterical since 4pm, no dying down. Now having trouble getting drinks in her again
