New to this group..not to Lyme..looking for a LLMD on Long Island,NY

Hi all, I am seeking a new Dr. That can give me further treatment for my late stage Lyme. I live on Long Island but am willing to travel for the right treatment. Thank you in advance, stay well🙏💗

Hi Saragem - welcome to our community!

I do have some LLMD's on my list for Long Island.

There is Dr. H . in Hyde Park, NY - if you're interested...he is accepting patients again...not sure how long the wait is. (Is that close enough?)

I figured it out,lol...yes, please email me any and all names you have ..I need to find a Dr. To treat me. I have done orals for about 6 months in the last 15 months..I have also done the buhner protocol...not better yet..

I have had encephalitis, and I just had an EMG that showed neuropathy in both legs and feet..my symptoms come and go, and change, and come back
.but they are all debilitating..

I need to find a Dr. To treat me with IV ABX .. Any info is much appreciated!!

For the rampant amount of infected ticks on Long Island its shocking to me there isn't one well known LLMD on the island.

Welcome to our community! I'm so glad you found us. Even though you are not 'new to Lyme' I would still encourage you to take a look at our "New to Lyme?" thread as it's packed with information - and that's the goal of this community, to share as much good information as we can.

Actually, there are LLMD's on Long Island, although I don't know how good they are, but I don't know how good any of the LLMD's really are as I haven't seen or spoke to any of them.

Traveler - when I sent my list to Saragem - I remembered that I had sent the "Long Island" names (I think there are two?) to another member a few weeks ago...and she said they actually weren't considered Long Island - they were Staten Island. (I think it's like 1 1/2 hours away)

I think it says Staten Island, Long Island on our list...so not being familiar...I don't want to change anything...but knowing that they are close enough to drive...I will continue to send.

I'm closer to that area than you are - but that doesn't say much, as I'm only in the middle of the country. But still, a 1 & 1/2 hour drive isn't too bad - many have to drive much further than that to see their LLMD. I had to drive 5 hours each way, and now that he's passed away, if I were to want to see a LLMD, the drive would be 8 or 9 hours each way.

We need more Lyme knowledgeable doctors, but until we get them, we have to make due with what we have.

To a Long Islander - Staten Island is a different state ;)
But w/ NYC traffic, it's a lot longer drive than 1.5 hrs. Not just the time but the complexity of city driving - most people won't make that kind of trip.
I haven't looked at that list for quite awhile, can't believe we don't have more names up there with better proximity than Staten Island.

I'm also a little surprised there hasn't been more response on this thread.

I have been emailing with Saragem.

I know there was a member who recently posted that she was looking for one in Long Island as well...and I don't think there was one found..unfortunately.
