My doctor left a message yesterday and said I had an elevated toxic load of cadmium. I had a phone call with them today to get some clarification (am I dying?). They couldn't tell me numbers or what exactly constitutes an elevated toxic load. They then explained that LabCorp felt it was urgent enough to call her. They said it was an "emergency". They made a big deal about
it (they're a little ADHD) and wants me to do TEN sessions of toxic metal chelation. TEN?? I could not figure out, for the life of me what this all means. They couldn't tell me if my number are higher than the average smoker (20 years) of if I'm literally about
to drop dead from this emergency. I also don't like that they're not up to date on cadmium and wants to have her general purpose IV guy administer IV chelation. The tone of her voice was dire, but they're nutty and a flibbertigibbet. They're a little scatterbrained too. I felt like they were panicking and I need to take a step back and figure this out.
I'm thinking about
getting a second opinion here. I know smoking is bad. I know cadmium is bad. I also live in an industrial area of Los Angeles. We're all exposed to cadmium, everyone is. But am I REALLY in emergency mode?? Despite the usual Lyme symptoms, I actually feel pretty good right now. What qualifies as an emergency or are they overreacting? I couldn't tell from our conversation today. They do tend to overreact. All the info online is very scientific and not helpful since I don't know the numbers. What's a "normal" amount of cadmium and what's "you're gonna die" amounts of cadmium?
I'm also already doing some metal detox (and have been for months): chlorella, charcoal, pectin, lots of water, saunas.
Does anyone have any insight? Can anyone recommend a good LLMD in Los Angeles or California? This is so confusing and scary. I need to hear it from someone who isn't freaking me out.
