Seeking LLMD in San Diego or NYC

Hi everyone,

I need some recommendations on LLMDs. I currently live in NYC and would love the names of some doctors here, but am also thinking about moving home with my mom for a bit while I get this figured out, and she lives in San Diego. Anything is appreciated. I'm scared by how difficult it has been to find doctors, and once I find them, they are all booked for months in advance.

Welcome to HW.com - I'm glad you found us but I'm sorry you are struggling.

You might be traveling a similar path to mine and at least one other person on the forum (NYC-SD).

Please email Moderators Traveler or Girlie for a current list of LLMDs. I am also a mod here but less frequently. I can talk w/ you about my LLMD in SD who was not taking patients at one time. I actually see her tomorrow and will ask her if she's taking patients yet. I HIGHLY recommend her but there are a few other options you can consider in either NYC or SD.

In the meantime, please read the "New to Lyme?" thread at the top of the page - has invaluable info in it to help get you started and get prepared for your first appt.

As Pirouette said, please do read the 'new to Lyme?' thread as it's packed with helpful and important information.

Besides emailing either myself or Girlie, here are a few other options I'd encourage you to use as well:

ILADS has their own referral system as well:

And www.LymeDoc.org

You will want to find an ILADS trained doctor, as ID Docs (Infectious Disease Doctors) as well as many others, believe Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat, and don't believe in the reality of chronic Lyme.
