It has recently come to my attention that I may not be taking enough vitamins. So based on recommendations of Buhner's protocol + my doctor I made a list of vitamins I will start taking this week. In addition to upping the dose of C, B, E etc.. I also want to take a multi vitamin.
My first question: While picking out a multi-vitamin I noticed that each one contains some selenium in it, but on the bottle it also states that you should not have more than 150 mcg selenium otherwise it may cause toxicity.
I'm currently taking 200 mcg of selenium which doesn't worry me since I know my body needs it after being ravaged by lyme and friends for the past 4 years, however my concern is taking more than that when I introduce a multi vitamin? Is that okay? Is anyone else taking 200mcg selenium + a multi vitamin with selenium in it?
The second questions, do I really need the multi vitamin?
Would it be enough for me to just take vitamin C, D, Bcomplex, E, Selenium, Hyalurnic Acid, and Cod Liver oil? (all in quite high doses)
Any recommendations and suggestions are highly appreciated! thank you!

Why don't you just stop taking the selenium...and just have what the multi has in it...it's fairly close amount.
..unless you know that 350 mcg is not too much - can you ask your Dr.?
Generally - multivitamins have a 'bit' of many vitamins...so often people will take it..and then add extra of specific single vitamins.
I find most multi's don't have enough of the B's....or Calcium/magnesium...etc.

Ha that does seem like the logical thing to do, especially if I get a multi-vitamin with higher content selenium and take it twice a day - thanks for your input Girlie
