I have a slightly enlarged inguinal lymph node (size of a small marble). It's been there for six months and has not changed in size. When it first became noticeable, it was a little sore for one day, but that's all. It's not painful, but I can feel it when moving around.

Per my LLMD's suggestion, I had it checked out by my PCP six months ago and she thought it was fine.

I just asked my LLMD for a prescription for a lymphatic drainage massage (so I can use my HSA) and he wants me to have a surgeon check it out to be on the safe side, just in case it's cancer. I feel like this is overkill as I've already had it checked out. I'm currently treating Bartonella and Babesia.

My questions - has anyone had a similar symptom with the enlarged lymph node? Did it ever go away? Did you try a lymphatic drainage massage, and what were the results?

I had a swollen, sore clavicle lymph node on my left side. I actually didn't know what it was until I had my first LLND appt. and he told me.

Mine did go away..with bartonella treatment.

I did do some lymph massage - but they were in the head/neck area:

hi A_Anne, hi Girlie,

i too have had a swollen, painless lymph node under my right jaw...for many many years (more than 20 years). it only subsided after taking long-term antibiotics. now that i stopped (im taking tinctures now), it is palpable again but markedly smaller.

i had cats all my growing years, i would "save" little kittens abandoned on the streets, bring them home, and raise them as my beloved pets. so it could be that the lymph node swelling was bartonella all along.

have you ever thought of getting a mini trampoline or a vibration plate to get the lymph moving?

i have never had a lymphatic massage, and im sure that i will need to pay out-of-pocket which could get expensive. that's why i have been contemplating on getting a small vibration plate or a mini-trampoline to get the lymph moving.

we have a small house so space is an issue, lol.

My lymph nodes hurt but don't seem enlarged. I bounce gently on a mini tramp which is supposed to help move the gunk through the lymph nodes. Sitting on a large ball and bounce also is supposed to help.

But my opinion about the doctor wanting you to see a surgeon is to cover his ass so to speak. Unfortunately, people sue doctors all the time.

I had this awful sense of having to pee at night, which is a symptom of Bartonella. My LLMD also wanted me to get it checked out by a Urologist. Even when I asked isn't a common symptom of Bartonella he acted like he never heard of such a thing.

So anyway that's my two sense.

I have had lymph nodes in many parts of my body swell and stay swollen for long periods of time before I knew what to do about them. I use red root to help the lymph system keep moving and lymph massages to help the lymph nodes move out the 'gunk' they have collected. Girlie posted the video that I would have posted - the only thing I have to say about the video, is that it says to massage them 50 times - do not start out with that!! That will make them very sore - approach this slowly as well. Only massage them for as long as you can without making them overly sore, but do it several times a day, every day.

Bouncing on a trampoline, rebounder, or even an exercise ball is said to also help move lymph, as Laker said.

I have had swollen lymph nodes as well. It started after I had strep throat when I was 16. The lymph nodes in the back of my neck swelled up. My doctor told me it was nothing to worry about so they stayed there for many years without change. Years later I stated having extreme bladder pain and was diagnosed with pelvic pain syndrome. All tests were normal but I still had the pain. I went to a physical therapist for pelvic floor PT and she said I had swollen lymph nodes in my lower abdomen just inside my hip bones. She worked on the nodes and also referred me to a massage therapist in my area that offered lymphatic drainage. She showed me what to feel for and I understood what she was talking about. I worked on myself as well at home. Between the PT, the lymph massage, and working on myself at home the pain totally went away and the swollen lymph nodes also disappeared. This was through several months of working on it. It was better than the alternative, bladder drugs. I no longer take them. Thank God.
