Sorry I forgot who gave me the list of places to send my son's tick. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

IgenX wanted almost $600 to check the tick for lyme and cos.

I sent it to Tick Report in Amherst, MA.

They are fantastic. I give them five stars.

It cost $100 to check the tick for Lyme and cos. (lots of them).

As soon as they received the tick they sent me a form with a photo of that type of tick and his actual tick, they told me the tick was only partially fed and not fully engorged.

The next day the report came and thank God the tick tested negative for everything. I cried I was so happy.

My son is treating late stage lyme and doesn't need any more bacteria

WOW. This is great - thanks so much for sharing. Immediate results and what a sense of relief that the tick was negative!

Great news Huddie, so glad for you and your family that it was negative.

That lab is at UMass in Amherst they are involved in a nationwide project on the spread of ticks and infections.

Thanks guys,

Yes very helpful to have a good resource that doesn't break the bank.

I was holding on to his tick and was told by Jclinic not to bother testing it.

It as nagging me and you guys suggested I test it. So happy I did.

They are really a great facility.

OMG, what a relief for you and your family! That is wonderful news, you needed to get a break for once!

I knew about this lab, but you are the first person I know to actually use them. Glad to hear you had a good experience.

Ticks bite people all day up here in NE . Not every bite causss infection but about89-90% carry Lyme. If you get by a Lyme or other infection pos tick it doesn't mean it transmits...

But yes caution. Testing. Trestment . Vigilant monitoring...sickness... unknowing... paranoia ..... that'we are dealing with. And there are more ticks than I've ever seen.. having babies.... something will have to be addressed by those with research and sci-fi brains because the tipping point is here...

Tourism / insurance/ pharma will have to acknowledge at some point soon.

Happy dance for Huddie and negative test........!

I have used the Amherst place for three ticks. The turn around time was pretty good (although it was winter) which was important as I seemed to be holding my breath waiting for a response! Two of the three negative........One carried lyme. The one that carried lyme was huge. They said that it had been feeding (on my dog) for about five days. (Frontline failure ) The one that was on me, was negative. And yes, that made me feel a little better but also wonder if I have some alien strains of tick borne stuff that they don't even test for! I imagine that there are things that are not even yet discovered.....

I sometimes wonder if I could get ahold of a hungry "clean tick" (one raised in a bubble) and offer it a warm crevice behind my knee! I would send it off to Amherst to see what kind of "smoothie of tick borne diseases" that I might carry. I wonder if that would almost be a more accurate way to determine my microbes than the stupid antibody tests!

I recently showed a doctor the Bartonella scratches and told him what they are and he argued that my dog must have scratched me. I tried to explain that the skin wasnt broken and just the blood vessels under the skin...and he said that I must have a dog with really soft claws...(huh?) .I gave up and didn't mention that it happens each time I start taking Houtunnyia......I am sure that he would have thought that my dog's name was Houtunnyia or Petunia or something...YEEESH... This was not the same doctor who told me that you cannot get Lyme disease twice....She had been to a conference so she knew! Wish the docs were as up to speed as the ticks!
