For all the LONG-timers out there who have hit a plateau and tried ehat seemz like EVERYTHING...

Have you tried Alinia? historically its prescribed to treat parasites, but recent studies reveal its effectiveness at busting open the cysts and breaking up biofilm.

I didnt notice much for the first several weeks, but then WHAM, herxing; which is a sign its doing great AND horrible tnings...another

Another sign of LOTS of dead bugs is swollen lymphs.

Now time to focus on detox!!!

Can attest to this ....it hits a lot .even viruses..so start slow n low and work up

for those who have been or are on alinia are you taking it all by itself or paired with 1 or 2 other medications?

Abb - it would have to be in conjunction with treatments for the infections you are dealing with, as you will be releasing bacteria from the biofilms that will need treatments.

Are you pulsing? What is your dose and duration so far?

Ive been cycling Alinia
myself and was scheduled to revisit it for Today but may wait a day or so as the Minocycline I just started 5 days ago is causing sweating, flushing, and some intracranial pressure. Nothing serious but just waiting to adapt to it.

Ive heard anecdotally that 500mg, 3x day is more effective than 2x but ask your doc as it is not a common dose schedule.

I know one LLMD suggests Alinia (for Babesia) dosing to be 500 mg twice daily.

mcspike - have you treated all three: Lyme/bart/babs?

Dr. J is going to throw Alinia into my Bartonella focused protocol. Interesting. I did take this for a very short time (3 weeks pulsed) and boy did it hit my babesia symptoms for sure.

I've been on it for 1.5 months and it's turning my eyes yellow. Ugh! It does help with babesia for sure!

So... my LLND started me out on the Alinia ALONE to gauge my tolerance otherwise wouldnt have known WHICH treatment to be the cause. After 3weeks I seemed tobe tolerating it; THEN we added amox, and chinese herbal abx.

I started out w/a twice daily of Alina, then dropped to once daily when adding in the others.

Oh, I forgot to answer the question WHAT Im treating? We addressed the Lyme 2014-end of 2016, alongwith heavy metals. Last four months of 2016 also used doxy and chinese herbs to address Ehrliosis.

Jan-March 2017 took a break from ABX due to my mother being on hospice and then passing away(i just focused on detox during that time).

Alzo, Ive had HIGH viral load for AT LEAST four of the herpes viruses that were reactivated. Since being on Alinia I havnt had any hsv1/hsv2, or shingles occurrences of which I was experiencing non stop during 2014-2016!!!!

It took a while to hit the 500 2x a day mark ...i do it for 5 days take 7 off.pairing with zith at first for bart instead of rifampin but now using Hang hh2 and allicin along with bvt and barberry.

im mostly going for bart .but on virus note .it shortened my flu to all but 2 days and no cold aores since February

Ok I have this at home and haven't added it in yet. Maybe because I'm scared? I don't know...

Although I was told to take this one straight through (no pulsing). What are you all doing with this? 7 days on, 7 off?
5 days on, 3 off?

Only other pharmaceuticals I'm on right now is ceftin pulsed with nystatin (alternate week is tindamax). The rest is all holistic

ChickNorris - your eyes turning yellow is a sign of jaundice and means that your liver is really struggling. You need to talk to your doctor right away. You most likely will need to stop treatments for a few days and detox your liver really good. This can turn into a serious issue if ignored.

I have been watching for signs of jaundice. I don't think that is the problem. One of Alinia's listed side effects is turning the whites of your eyes pale yellow. My skin isn't turning yellow, my stool isn't getting pale, I don't really have any of the other telltale signs of jaundice. And I have seen jaundice in someone with liver failure, it's freaky! Thanks though!

I think ChickNorris is right. There's something about Alinia that discolors parts of the body.

This might be too much information, but Alinia turns my semen a yellowish-green.
It was really disconcerting but went away after I stopped the medication.

I had jaundice for awhile (teenager) and it only showed in the whites of my eyes.
Sometimes it doesn't show in the skin until it's really progressed.

Have you had liver function tests done? For me, it was raised bilirubin.

I would still suggest that you speak to your doctor and get your liver tested. I've never used Alinia, and yet when my liver was really struggling, the whites of my eyes turned yellow too. Not a bright yellow, but it was still weird!

Anyway, I was only concerned for your liver health, and would still encourage you to have it checked. We work our livers pretty hard and it's not at all uncommon for them to get overloaded with toxins.

My sister who has Lyme also, had a Lyme friend who just died from Lyme CAUSED liver disease!
So, I agree w/the above suggested warning regarding yellowing of the eyes. My LLND, gives me lab orders at each monthly appointment, to watch the liver(& other things of coursr)

Well you all encouraged me! Got labs drawn today while I was at my infusion center for glutathione. Got a full metabolic panel done. Hopefully all is well but better safe than sorry!
