Byron White A-L: starting at full dose

I am about two-and-a-half months into my Lyme treatment. Have transitioned off the abx and still taking herbs (Cat's Claw, J Knotweed). Right now I feel just about my pre-Lyme self; I didn't have symptoms when I began treatment just days after my bite, so feeling good right now doesn't surprise me.

This week I move into a new protocol using the Byron White A-L formula. Everywhere I've read it seems you start at 1-2 drops a day and move up gradually from there. But my doc is starting me at 25 drops 2x/day--full gas right from the start. This sounds scary considering how potent this formula reputedly is. I imagine my doc set this amount because she feels I can handle it at my stage, but still.

Anyone else out there tried this formula, especially starting at max dose? I'm wondering if two days from now I'm going to go from living a normal daily routine to whiplashing back to herxes. But if the Lyme is gone perhaps I won't feel anything. Fingers crossed.

Start with 1-2 drops and build up. Dr's comonly do what yours is but they've not had these diseases so they follow the instructions giving by manufacture of the product.

The worst thing you can do is give yourself a herx from he*l. If you handle the 1-2 drops go up by a drop the next day. Continue going up a drop per day until the drops make you feel lousy. At that point drop down one drop and stay at that level for a few days and then go back up one drop. Stay at that level until you no longer feel lousy, increase again by one drop and so on.

And I wholeheartedly second jrpsf's suggestions. Or third because goshawk was the second. LOL

Well, my doc is an LLMD so she is familiar with this formula. I even double-checked with the office to make sure I wasn't reading a typo when they shipped it to me. I appreciate the advice and will ask if I can try lower dose then move up. But since I'm at a different stage than many patients who start this formula, my doc may insist I go with the prescribed protocol. But I'm going to ask for a good reason before I do.

Going to agree w/ the other posts - makes no sense to start at full dose. Start low, work up slowly. Detox all the way. And THEN inform MD you're on full doses without issue.

I just wanted to share that I tried AL-Complex, worked up to max dose and felt nothing... did nothing for me. But I hope you have some success.

I would agree with the others. There are some that don't herx on the BW formulas, but most do. Recovering from that kind of a herx can really set you back in your treatments and the way you feel.

Of course I wish you the best of luck and hope that you don't herx horribly with this approach.
