New Dr prescribed a regiment of new supps including a multi vitamin. I looked last night and it had huge amounts of B6 in it. Let's just say 3570 over the daily intake of a normal intake.. I stopped this today and hopefully some of the burning will stop.
Only have one week left of levaquin so am going to hang on.. (then I push for vanco).

B6 in high levels is toxic and can cause nerve damage. They say it doesnt matter 'cause its water soluable. FALSE claim!!!
It can build up in some people, did to me. Others too, goggle it and see. I dont do much B6 and feel better now.

ok, thanks. I noticed my b12 blood tests was out of range (2,000) . Wonder if there is a test which shows absorption of b12.

Yes there is
Homocysteine is increased by functional deficiency of folate or B12. My test was done by quest, and my numbers were high, indicating a B12 deficiency.

my homocysteine score was high also and my b12 level was silly high at 2,000. I figured it was an issue. I think the b-6 issue is the culprit enhancing my already neuro issues..

You probably have some methylation links broken - it can be tough to process B6 with some of these mutations that can occur. And MDs have little understanding of this and prescribe multi-vits, which I think people like us should be pretty careful with.
You might need to find something to "mop up" the B6 - maybe others can help with that.
Sorry tcoach1! Hang in there.

tcoach, Levaquin, a fluoroquinolone, can cause peripheral neuropathy. That is one nasty drug!!!!! My gp and llmd refuse to prescribe it due to its debilitating side effects. See my signature line.

Thanks about
the levaquin. I have 1 week left and I am bring careful. My neuropathy always is the first symptom with flair
Lyme burning with me has always been sporadic areas all over for a few seconds. As of late the burning is long and hurts. Taking b 6 out today. Life extensions 2 a day supp it's called. I read the levels in this last nite. Wow

Astro man, did you have any other symptoms… Besides the burning when you're taking all the B6

The methylmalonic acid (MMA) test also test b12 levels. It's good to do this and the homocysteine test.
