I have been taking it frequently for about 2 months now. I never did break from it. I pull with it and it goes in all of my drinks. I dont know anything that it would react with.
It causes lots of flatulence. It only caused a herx the first time I used it. The herx was similar to Nystatin.
If I eat a high carb meal like a bowl of white rice, I get tired. If I were to eat pasta it would be insulin shock at ten times the level of rice.
Xyltiol does not do this to me, so I dont think it is spiking my blood sugar in any meaningful way. No energy gain or loss, no come down, no crash.
I have gained a bit of weight in my mid section which may be attributable to the level of consumption.
I believe it has kept me from developing a dental implant infection. In the last two months there were a few times that I felt that I was on the cusp of one. Xylitol is the likely thing that prevented an Ambesol moment from developing.
I have used it externally, in the nasal passages, and even the eye.
It has not been a negative experience anywhere I have used it. That said its difficult to get overly excited about it anywhere outside of the mouth.
I would classify my daily intake as high for this period of time.
I dont believe you would need to do an enema with it as it finds its way to the lower intestine quite easily.
Some believe it ferments there and that is why you get the flatulence. I do not know if this is true or not. It sounds plausible.
