OUCH! I have those too, and it's hard to get through!
Since you noted it previously as a herx (even though you didn't realize it at the time), it's likely a herx for you. I would encourage you to increase your detoxing, and try using heat or ice on your low back. If one works better for you, stick with that, or rotate the heat and ice throughout the day. Heat will relax the muscles and ice will help bring down the inflammation locally.
I have a friend that calls the sciatic nerve the 'devil nerve' because when it really gets hurting, it's wicked! I pretty much agree with her on that!!
