Bartonella rash?

Hello,
based on these photos, would you say it is bartonella or do you have any thoughts what could it be?

Murto, I think they are. Not 100% positive because sometimes they do look like nail scratches....my daughter gets them on her collar bone up into her neck and doesn't know why. (She has Lyme and I suspect some of the co-infections)

This morning I had a long line on the inside of my thigh running across the inside of my knee to my inner calf and I figured it was Bart since I've had an upswing of Bart symptoms lately. But my mark more resembled a stretch mark in red. I have had these on other places before and thought they were stretch marks, but they went away. I didn't know I was infected then.

I don't know how helpful a GP is going to be. Are you in treatment for Lyme?

It could be. Unless you remember scratching yourself . Is it all one area?

Have you been diagnosed with Lyme disease?

The symptoms you have - could very well be lyme and co's.

I have it usually in my left armpit, but on the first picture it is on my trapezius muscle. I really did not scratch myself, the rash is not even on the surface of my skin... It looks like blood under the skin in a straigt line (it reminds me of broken vessels a lil bit, but they would not be in the line like that). I'm not diagnosed with Lyme yet, because here in Czech republic is not any LD specialist so I have to visit my GP and ask him for the test. I think it could be lyme because three years ago I had facial palsy that lasted only a few days, but to be honest I thought it was some kind of allergy so I did not go to doctor. I just found recently that something like facial palsy actually exists.

A couple of times I had a bart streak. I thought I had scratched myself, but the skin was not broken. And then it went away rather quickly for a scratch.

You should print those pictures and show them to your doctor.

I'm with the others, with symptoms those look like bart scratches. Bart can bring on some really strange rashes, striations, splotches, just weird, wild stuff. MAINLY because there are many "bart-like" organisms or BLOs that we are running around with that are dx as Bart.

I get what look like scratches like yours - on my torso. I also get these weird round stamp marks. I get patechiae, red sumudges - all which come and go. And I developed this marbled spot the size of a baseball when I started tx and it has never gone away.

I'd go ahead and start some herbal tx and see how things go...

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this stuff. I also get some red spots that disappear over the night. I've had a simple blood test done last summer (not for lyme) and I noticed that everything was OK but bilirubin...it was quite higher and last month I feel something like...I don't know it's not really a pain, but it feels like my livers are kind of bigger or swollen. It's such an uncomfortable feeling. Could it be due to lyme or bart? Along with my bladder and urethra problems.

Murto - since I was a teenager my bilirubin has been higher than range. I was told I had Gilbert's syndrome.

Then after treating for bartonella - the bilirubin went down and stayed down.
I have been wondering if all along I had bartonella - but my immune system was keeping it in check for the most part.
I've always had cats...and have had many bites in my lifetime.

NOTE - stopped bartonella treatment and my bilirubin is up again.... shocked

That's crazy... So the lyme and it's co-infections can do almost everything.
I have kind of red skin in my left armpit and sometimes i develope something like a broken vein there. And I'm quite tired for year, I gave up on any sport activities since the last summer. But last two weeks I'm trying to do something because I just can't be without sport. And since I started working out again, the streaks tend to appear more often

Hi guys,

just another question. Is it possible that the bartonella rash would tend to appear more frequently after exercise or heating up? The marks get usually visible when I try to work out and then slowly disappear within few hours, but some of them stay for a few days

Yes, the rash can change, appear, disappear...come back...etc.

I often get a rash from these infections during my epsom salt bath.

So, I have had little red dots appear on the top of my right foot - soon after starting Babesia treatment...they would appear in the bath...and then slowly disappear awhile after I was out of the bath.

Also, I had some streaks on my right shoulder area...don't know if they were bartonella - but they also appeared twice after warm epsom salt baths.

I also used to have some red dots after hot bath, but that was in the winter, not now. Lot of my symptoms disappeared after taking the antibiotics for cough, it was on the base of trimethoprimum and sulfamethoxazolum. But the symptoms came back after 2 or 3 weeks. I also have some dry places on my skin (around the nose, on palms, fingers and left armpit). Now I'm looking for some doctor who could run the tests

The antibiotic was Cotrimoxazol, it was on the base of trimethoprimum and sulfamethoxazolum

so that looks to be similar...if not the same as Septra or Bactrim.

That is a common antibiotic for lyme...it also has an effect on Bartonella.

Hi, I did not find any help yet. My GP still thinks it's not the Lyme, but I'm quite sure it is. I did not found any other similar disease that cause this rash...right now I have this in my left armpit http://www.imgup.cz/image/LHBq

Should I try some other doctor and does it look like Bart?
