Other binders -
psyllium husk (not recommended if you have GI damage)
cholestyramine (only PURE form, which requires Rx and is expensive but probably the most important thing I take - the manufactured versions like Welchol are full of fillers and sometimes even sugar - they're cheap, weak and probably won't work).
diatomaceous earth (food grade)
Don't confuse binders with chelators like chlorella, which are used specifically to leach heavy metals.
ALWAYS use binders with sufficient water intake - especially if you have slow motility.
ALWAYS use time buffers before and after taking binders to make sure the binders don't bind to what you want to digest:
- wait at least 1 hour after consuming anything orally like food, drink, meds (preferably 2 hrs if you have slow digestion/motility) and then you can take your binder
- wait at least 2 hrs after taking your binder to resume eating or taking meds (preferably 3 hrs if you have slow digestion/motility)
