Hey guys

Ok so I've been on antibiotics 2 months (omnicef and Bactrim ds) and as of today I still feel exactly the same.

I never herxed or at least I don't think I did. The most I've had is inner elbow pain (today) and some migrating aches and pains here and there but by the sound of the way most people herx, I doubt this is my herx.

I'm really frustrated because I feel like since I'm feeling exactly the same, that treatment isn't working. I was actually looking forward to some sort of herx to at least justify that something is working.

I see the LlMD on Tuesday. What should I say to him?

Say exactly what you said to us.

What are your doses of the Omnicef and Bactrim?

2 months isn't a really long time...but if the migrating aches and pains along with the inner elbow pain are new since treatment - that could be a low-level herx.

Maybe switching up the meds will make a difference.

You don't have to herx to be healing.

Do you have a journal and are you keeping track of your symptoms. Some of mine dropped off my list and I didn't even know it. I mean they went away so quietly. Like a slow diminishing of a symptom.

Maybe your doctor is going slow so you won't be miserably herxing as you heal?

Ask him what to expect. I think sometimes the doctors give us something and we don't ask "what will this do?" We should always ask, "what are signs that this medicine is not good for me and I should call you?"

I am guilty of just taking whatever the doc gives me and not asking questions.

Yeah I just take the meds as he gives it to me lol I don't ask anything.

I'm gonna start keeping a journal. I think that will be best just to see what I notice or don't notice.

Thanx guys. I'm just frustrated that's all. I pray the brain fog goes away. That's the one symptom I wish would leave

Girlie the omnicef is 1200 mg a day

The bactrim da doesn't have a number on it. But I take it twice a day

I really had to have a journal. First off, I could not remember anything when I had the brain fog. It was so very helpful to just have a daily log of what was happening to me. Like my lyme diary. LOL

Twice a day is good for the Bactrim DS.



It is not common to take abx and never herx. But, again the inner elbow pain and the migrating aches and pains could be a milder herx.

Yeah I started the journal yesterday. It actually feels nice to write down my symptoms and physically see them.

This morning my inner elbows are killing me!! They feel sooooo sore and also the sides of my thighs hurt too. So I'm gonna assume this is a herx and move on lol

I just posted this article for someone else. Lyme is constantly waxing and waning with symptoms. It is the natural progression of the disease. These are called flares. And then there are herxes, which everyone talks about. This article will explain better than I can.
