Going through a break up. I have 2 young boys. I'm very sick and unable to work. Their father has been taking care of us but he no longer wants to be together. I feel stuck because of this sickness but I have no other choice but to leave. I dont have family nor am I able to work. Does anyone know of any programs/help for sick single parents with kids? Some kind of housing help or something. Im lost and not even sure how to get out of this situation. Having a lot of trouble on treatment already now this stress is just going to make it worse.

Traci, have you been through the links in the New to Lyme thread? There may be some help offered in those links???

I'm so so very sorry that this is happening. We will do our best to keep your post bumped up so that it gets just as many views as possible. I can take a look tomorrow online to see if I can be of any more help as well.

Would you mind letting us know what state you are in so that we can all at least focus our efforts there instead of only things that are nation wide?

Thank you so much. Yes is is very tough. It is the worst timing going through this and on top of that the hurricane just hit our area. I live in Texas In the Houston area.

So sorry this is happening to you!

Do you have to leave? I hope your husband does the right thing and makes sure you have somewhere to go with the kids.

I don't know what is available in the U.S. (I live in Canada)

Hi Traci,
That sure is hard to deal with. I'm sorry you are facing this, especially when your are sick. I know it probably seems like there is no hope right now, but you will make it.

You have your children, and they need you and love you right now too.

Unfortunately we cant always change other people's thinking or actions. Yes it is sad and heartbreaking, but if it is so...then for you, your health and your children's sake I would start to focus on moving forward with a plan to ensure all of you have shelter, food, care and support.

I would suggest you seek help right away for assistance from local organizations that are near to you now.

Seek out faith based, government and other charities/organizations active now in your area.

They will help get you started in securing a stable life for you and your children.

I would reach out to friends, my llmd,church or any one else you know of to help you through this transition.

Please take care and we are thinking of you and praying for you and your family. Jo
