I've been reading everything I can about
Lyme Disease lately. There are a couple of things I've been wondering about
but haven't run across any answers.
I don't know if anyone here has answers but here goes:
I keep reading that Borrelia doesn't like to hang out in the blood. But if the Borrelia bacteria's main goal is to reproduce and spread, why would it not be hanging out in the blood? Seems to me that at some point they should be waiting there for a chance to hitch a ride on the next tick that bites you so it can spread to another vector.
Also, I'm having trouble with the idea that a tick has to be attached for what, 36 hours or something like that before it can transmit Borrelia. I'm also reading that Borrelia might be transmitted by fleas or mosquitoes. Obviously they aren't going to stay attached for long. So why would it be different with them?
Thanks for any answers you might have.
