Doxycycline dosage (100mg? 200mg? other?)

Interested to know what people's doxycycline dosage is/has been and what the infections were.
100mg twice a day for 30d?
200 mg once a day?
Other antibiotics?

What goes into deciding the dosage?

Hi and welcome to our forum riverghat,

Glad you found us are you treating for Lyme?

I took 200 mg 2X a day for the first 4 months of my treatment. Then malarone ,azith and Bactrim. Now off ABX and on all herbals.

Are you talking about a recent tick bite? Or a chronic infection?

If it's chronic, then LLMD's will prescribe two abx at once and change them after a period of time.

The dose is usually 200 mg twice daily.

You mentioned 100 mg twice daily for 30 days. I'm assuming that is referring to a recent tick bite, acute infection?
The dosage really should be 200 mg twice daily..and 30 days is only if there are no symptoms...not even a bulls-eye rash - just a tick bite.

That is still a good guide for antibiotic choices and dosages.
