Seeking an LLMD in SoCal that accepts insurance

Hi everyone,

my OBGYN recently requested a Lyme, western blot, serum test and 5 bands came back positive IgG P66Ab, IgG P58 Ab, IgG P41 Ab, IgG P39 Ab, IgG P30 Ab and Lyme IgG WB Interp.

my doctor then put me on 3 antibiotics and 1 anti fungal (probiotics and D3 ...) for 3 months. I am 6 weeks into the treatment, but my symptoms are not getting any better smile after reading lots of forums, i found you guys and so glad i did, as i found lots of beneficial information. i read on "new to Lyme" forum that i need to find an LLMD to treat me but i have few questions:

- why LLMD are not covered by insurance?
- are LLMD doctors in the western sense or they only focus on alternative medicine?
- finally i need to find an LLMD who accepts insurance in southern california

Hi HD - welcome!

I'll let someone from the U.S. explain about LLMD"s and insurance.

(I think it's to do with them being investigated for following ILADS guidelines and treating patients long-term for lyme - which is against the IDSA guidelines)

Most LLMD's do follow the pharmaceutical approach to treatment..but some do also incorporate the allopathic treatments as well.
Some people choose to see a LLMD and a LLND or herbalist....OR just add in the herbs themselves.

You can edit the title of your thread to include "...who accepts insurance"

I'm not sure if you'll find one...
