Hi all I have been on 200mg twice a day of doxy for the last 6 weeks and I can still see my bulls eye rash. Does this means hve to keep taking them? What if the bulls eye doesn't go away for years?i have read on some forums that some people had permenant discolouration from a bulls eye
How do I know if this is an active bulls eye and therefore still infected or if it's discolouration?

Szabo, sorry to know about
that...
My EM rash went transparent pretty fast after starting doxy. In 2 weeks it was certainly totally gone.
I mean, back to skin color.
Did you scratch or itch it or took lots of sun when it was active?
The skin did get sensitive during the time I could see the EM rash. Then slowly got stronger...
Why don't you rub some essential oils such as geranium, Olbas, thieves (dilute them, not directly)...
Also try some garlic slices, rub them or attach them to the spot with a band (during the night, so that no one complains about
the smell). I learned that with dr K's 'assistant' here in Germany.
I would use also high voltage on the spot (but that's me, I usually use high voltage with my violet ray and in most spots I get a bruise or hurt, it heals about
10x faster than if I let it without treatment...).

Thanks for your suggestions Jinna, it did it a lot! I couldn't help but scratch it in the initial stages. Do you think this is a scar or do you think it means that the infection is present?

Also what do you mean by using high voltage?

Hi Szabo -
I would not consider the presence of the rash as indication of anything - unless the rash continues to grow/change shape. EM rashes commonly come and go throughout treatment and can sometimes mean that the WBCs have been stimulated to do their thing against the microbes it finds near the flesh. But also these marks can stain or take a long time to resolve, like you stated.
Once I started tx I developed 4-5 different weird types of rashes, including EM, that would pop up everywhere and sometimes take many months to resolve. It was pretty strange. The new EMs probably indicated new pockets of Bb that my immune system or the abx found but eventually, they all stopped developing.
Also, 6wks is a short tx period. I would continue treating for at least a month after resolution of your other sx. Quite a few people have the lingering EMs. I would gauge effectiveness of your tx from your other sx, not EM rash.

Pirouette thank you so much, I was so worried that it meant the doxy has had zero effect! I felt pretty bad when first taking the doxy, extreme fatigue and nauseous, my m
Main symptom now is a mild shoulder pain that lasts a few seconds and goes then comes back later in the day and once again goes again without painkillers.
