Are you sure it's your "temples"?
The temporomandibular joint (that operates your mandible, jaw movement, responsible for chewing and speaking, etc.) is right below the temple. Craniofascial pain can be in multiple places and can be caused by TMJ, among other issues but primarily TMJ.

TMJ was either my very first Lyme sx and dx (age 9) or the result of being hit on the side of the head with a ball. I've suffered from it ever since but it's not as bad as it used to be.
Are you experiencing pain or just the swelling? Any clicking or limited jaw movement? Any history of teeth grinding while you sleep?
