Babesia caught early

For those of you whose you who caught Babesia early and are feeling *roughly* back to normal, how long post treatment did it take for you to reach this milestone? I am heading towards four months past treatment and still dealing with a low level of fatigue every day, slight balance issues, etc. Progressing yes, but seems at a snails pace.
Not looking for treatment advice, know I am on the mend (had tons of lab work in the the last month all negative), but looking that the slow pattern of recovery is the "norm"

lab work means nothing when determining whether you still have an active infection. think of a large bowl of red jello with a few small pieces of green jello mixed in. when you pick up a spoonful you may have some bits of the green jello or not. obviously the green jello here is babesia.

you need to treat by clinical symptoms. i have very few symptoms from my babesia duncani infection (lab confirmed so always good if you get a positive) and i still have it per my LLMD after 8 months of pounding away at it this year which was on top of hitting it for 6 months spread across 2014.

i know you didn't ask that but there's this incorrect notion that if a blood test doesn't show it you don't have it which is patently false.

to me the fact you are still dealing with low levels of fatigue tells me you still have an active infection. let untreated long enough it'll either stay that way (cause your immune system is able to keep it somewhat at bay) or you symptoms will worsen over time. how much time its hard to say some its weeks, months or even years.

for me a good way to check if i'm still dealing with an active infection is to take some high amounts of a few very strong anti-malarial drugs and see if i react.

frankenstein - how long did you treat it? And how long did you have lyme and co symptoms prior to treating it?

Those symptoms: low level fatigue, slight balance issues....as Rikky said - could be active infection.

For me fatigue was one of the last sx to show improvement. Fatigue is pretty common across most all Lyme related diseases so pretty hard pin it down to a treatment protocol and duration.

I treated Babesia for 7 months (the first time 3 and relapsed). Fingers crossed, it hasn't come back. Fatigue wasn't a symptom, though. I was out of breath, had weird burning sensation on my skin when I started to sweat, hot flashes and tension headaches.

Fatigue is usually a sign of detox issues. You still might be dealing with toxins from the past infection (toxins store in the fat) or still dealing with something else. Can you exercise? I found a vigorous walk where I worked up a sweat always gave me my energy back. Sweating is the easiest way to remove toxins.

If you up your detox and feel better, then I would suspect that you still have something going on and it needs to be addressed. I would exercise and add a binder and then reassess.
