200 hundred children every day. That's astronomical. But also makes sense considering 500K+ people are diagnosed every year (in the US alone).
I've never heard of a disease that effects such a ridiculously high number of NEW people each year (not mathematically counting all the other people every single year prior) to not be well known.
Everyone knows cancer.
You ask most people if they know lyme disease and the answer is "yea, I kind of heard of that before, it has something to do with a tick right?"
It just boggles my mind how millions and millions and millions of people have diagnosed (not counting undiagnosed) lyme disease just in the US (not including the rest of the world) and people are so unaware of it.
How is that even possible?
Also, I hate the word "cure". Because there's a scientific definition and a colloquial definition of the word. And most people know the colloquial definition and that definition isn't real.
There's no "cure" for anything. There's no quick and easy pill or shot you can take.
There's only effective treatment that actually works.
The term "cure" makes it sound impossible, "effective treatment that works" sounds much more realistic and doable.
There's no cure for the common cold there's only "effective treatment that works".
