Spoke with my LLMD tonight.... feeling devastted

Many people get bit and new get sick.
Many more get better with a round of doxy.
Sometime the only way to get better is to ask why your body was open to lyme and probably other bugs.

I am so, so sorry for your conversation with your LLMD and your health struggles. Although I don't have Lyme, I have many times watched other 14-year-olds do amazing things and my heart breaks for my daughter who has been struggling with Lyme for 6 years now.

One thing maybe we have to bear in mind is that our LLMDs are human too and they must also experience horrible days of despair - what a job! I found out in a July 2017 video of a Dr H presentation in Binghamton that his wife has been suffering from Lyme for 20 years. That hit my gut hard listening to that.

We almost lost our daughter last year. She was at the bottom of the Lyme pit of darkness. She, like you, was bitten twice. But the good news is that she is now back in school, making new friends, and the kitchen knives are back on the counter.

She still slips, like yesterday. She had a massive reaction to xylitol (in efferC) when I added it to her cholestyramine. She is also on Buhner protocol and fluconazole right now. So, don't know whether we succeeded in killing candida or busting biofilms, but wow - what a reaction.

Gave her some alka seltzer and lemon juice and epsom bath and guess what? She went in to school after that. Symptoms disappeared. What a day, what an emotional toll. Dealing with this disease can be like sitting on a pneumatic see saw with a giant troll on the other end operating the switch.

So I guess my advice would be pay attention to everything you are doing, even the small stuff (like taking xylitol!). And try to change up only one thing at a time (I'm really bad at this). And pull back when you need to.

Allow yourself some private time and space for some kind of self comfort every day for emotional healing. This is hard when you have kids, I know. And when you feel like crap. But it has really helped my daughter and it helps me help her.

Don't give up - there are lots of LLMDs and naturopaths out there with different approaches and philosophies, and so, so many different factors to consider and things to try on the journey to wellness. The better health guy is great.
