Recommended lab tests for physical

I switched my primary care physician and after a long wait, will finally get a physical on Thursday. I have seen her once for a skin issue and am pleased that she said she's "semi Lyme literate" and willing to "partner" with integrative /alternative health care providers. I don't expect her to treat my Lyme & Co, but at least she believes in igenex and acknowledged the problem with idsa. We'll see what she means by "partnering".

So, besides the usual cbc, cmp, cholesterol, blood tests, is there any thing useful I might ask for?

Well... I guess you'll find out what "semi-Lyme literate" means for you! Maybe you can help her learn a thing or two - some MDs and NDs are quite eager to learn. Others....

It is a really great sign that she is interested in partnering with an integrative/alt provider. My LLMD is also very interested in partnering with other MDs but I think she means this only for previous patients of hers.

So - for a good "baseline work up" for a Lymee - I would also include the following analysis but really, it depends on your unique sx and tx AND how familiar your MD is with some of theses tests AND how much you're willing to spend - typical ins won't cover all of it -

BASIC:
full thyroid panel (T3, T4, RT3, RT4)
adrenals + cortisol + DHEA 4 or 5-sample 24hr saliva test w/ urine sample
liver, kidney, electrolytes - "blood chemistries"
25 OH Vit D
glucose metabolism
minerals

SX-RELATED EXPLORATION:
methylation/MTHFR (I would not do this through MD but would do it through FULL DNA through 23andme.com)
ferritin
HLA (mold)
stool tests (Dr's Data - leaky gut, some yeast/fungus)
cytokine (Th1/Th2)
hormone
heavy mtls

You've got some good ones on there.
I'll not even bother to ask pcp for some of those tests that aren't available thru quest or labcorp, I'll save those for when I switch to a new llmd. I don't expect her to treat me for Lyme, but I'm gonna ask for a western blot and request they report all bands. I had igenex wb a year ago and results were indeterminate.

I'd like to redo the igenex testing also but will wait for new llmd to order that.

I doubt I have gut problems. I'm regular like clockwork with healthy looking stools, am not gassy, and experience no gi discomfort. As such, do you see any reason to pursue that path?

No - if you don't have noticeable GI issues, you're probably in good shape. The Doctor's Data test is expensive. If you're on your way to a new LLMD eventually, a lot of this can be skipped if insurance isn't going to cover it, anyway.
