Hi all,
I’m struggling hard with a recent Lyme diagnosis. Psychiatric symptoms such as depression, anxiety and significant cognitive impairment are the worst. My life has virtually stopped. (I am a professor/researcher praised for her brain)... I had a Brain MRI with these results. Any insight? Lyme-related? I have had high Bp since the Lyme. I’m 49 so don’t think the results are due to aging. Any feedback much appreciated!
Impressions: “non-specific 5 mm right periventricular white matter hypersensitivity”.

The first thing I would do would be alter my diet. I'm not sure what you are eating, but it needs to be changed to lower ammonia production. If you search my previous posts, you can see some of my recommendations on eating. Alkaline over acidic foods would be beneficial. You have to lower your oxidative stress levels.
I consider myself a researcher as well, a health researcher.

I would think the lesion is Lyme-related. I had an MRI during my diagnosis phase and had 10 white matter lesions that hadn't been there about
5 years earlier when I had an MRI for unrelenting headaches. I was 42 when I had that MRI, so also not age-related.
They sent me down the road of possible MS, but ultimately, I believe mine are Lyme-related. I actually just had another MRI yesterday, 4 years after the first, and am curious to read the report to see if they've gone away after almost 3 years of treatment.
I would treat your Lyme.

Jasperilla - will you update us on the status of the 10 white matter lesions - with your latest mri?

Mindful67-I am 48. I have the same MRI results, but I have 7 lesions. And I, too, have had high BP since the Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella, path began
