All good comments, Scooterbuglyme.
I don't have a whole lot to add other than the charcoal is a great GI binder, which you should include in your protocol. Another option is bentonite clay.
But start with a VERY low dose of it and slowly work up to 4/day (yes, that is DEFINITELY too much at first but also a good dose to work up to). Follow Jo's instructions carefully...
A little herxing is OK --this is why we work hard to detox. But if you're herxing that much from RIFE, you're probably overdoing it. So find a practitioner who can effectively adjust what they're doing to reduce your herxing.
And another suggestion is to build your protocol slowly: start on abx, don't add anything else in until you reach optimal doses and optimal detoxing and can manage herxing. Then Slowly add in herbals one at a time, again, working slowly up to optimal doses over time. And only after that, once you're again stable, add in something like RIFE.
Now, many of us can't manage all that. It took me over a year to get everything added in. Others were able to work faster. But always, always, when you flare or relapse with overwhelming sx, give your body and tx a break, increase detoxing and nutrition and rest... and this also gives you time to strategize next steps w/ your Lyme specialist. They often like to work too fast and don't appreciate the need for detoxing like they should so you're in charge of that.
Hang in there and let us know what you decide.
