Daughter's MRI results back - Impressed Radiology Dr. Suggested Lyme!

We just got the results back from my daughter's MRI. They mentioned the 1cm FLAIR bright focus might be a manifestation of Lyme disease. I am impressed!

Results are a double edged sword - glad to have some proof something is going on in her head but the results are also scary. My uncle died from MS complications. Looking forward to talking to the JC clinic about the results next week.

Wow - that's a first I've seen that from an MRI report.

I can understand how on one hand happy and the other scared. The good news is she can hopefully reverse it all with treatment! Has she treated before? Keep us updated!

I know! I think I might have to go back and hug that doctor and give him a gold star from the lyme community!

Yes. She was treated back in 2014. We just started with the JC clinic in November. We are definitely feeling in good hands.

Great plan Peppermint Tea. Anything drs in the know can do to educate their peers is great too ;) I'm so glad you got more insight on your daughter. Dr. J will definitely have thoughts on the next steps with this new information.

Girlie - Will do. Appointment next week. This will be out 3rd appointment in just over 30 days for her (last two being phone). Yes. JC Clinic/ our NP CW ordered the MRI.

Well, your daughter is in good hands (IMO) with Dr. J.

...and I'm thinking she will be seeing him about the results and not the NP.

May I ask where the flare was on her brain? My MRI showed that the very back of my brain did not curve under as it normally would and protruded out slightly. They said it was genetic and probably had been there my whole life..

Eldonkey - left posterior of mid brain. Wow. Does the fact your brain not curve under affect you?

Wow, aan open minded radiologist !!! My mri had multiple T2 white flares went to MS cllinic with tremor, mild drop foot and balance issues and the MD said I had an " over stressed neurological system " he couldn't say I don't know or wouldn't say Neuro Lyme.

Good grief, Kct. You need to come on up to NH to get a MRI read. Sorry you have a noodle head for a radiologist.

I'm guessing it doesn't affect me. It's apparently not that uncommon. Thank you for sharing by the way. The reason I was asking is with all the anxiety and difficulty concentrating I'm having, I wonder if the person who looked at my MRI new what they were looking at. This Dr J everyone keeps mentioning on this thread, would you mind private messaging me the name of the Dr?
