Struggling anyway now have the flu

Title says it all. The last few weeks have been pretty bad for me and now i have the flu. Cough, headache and 102 fever and hurting all over but i've been hurting all over for more than a year. I haven't taken anything for fever because i thought maybe the fever will kill some lyme? Kind of a hillbilly hansa lol. I know, not high enough but it helps to think maybe.

Just had some blood work done by llmd and he said my immune system is not doing its part. Not really sure what all of the tests were looking for. I had to travel to get them done, no one around here could draw them or even tell me what they were.

Is there anything i should do or just ride it out. Is this going to be worse since i'm still struggling with lyme? This is the first time that i have been really sick other than the horrible lyme symptoms since i started treating lyme. Since i have a fever isn't that a good sign that my immune system is at least trying? Soooo ready for this to all be over just like all of you.

Can't really see the point of going to doc since I am currently taking iv rocephrin, biaxin, flagyl and nysratin plus a myriad of supplements. The thing that really sucks is i got the flu shot which made my lymes way worse and now i still have the flu. Really regret getting the flu shot.

Sorry you have the flu and I understand cause I am just starting to get over it. It hit me hard and fast last Saturday.

I had 102.7 fever and it spiked my other vitals and put me right out of work for the last 5 days.

Be careful your body is already fighting these other infections and the flu is very taxing on our immune system and it causes a lot of inflammation and a cytokine cascade.

You can get sepis if the flu gets out of control, not good and life threatening.

For me, I took tamiflu(from thr ER), but then switched to more Sida acuta, Andrographis, NAC, bone broth and lots of Vit C

Im starting to feel much better today.


Hang in there and check with your llmd or GP to be sure.

Im no medical expert just letting you know my own experience.

I got the flu on the fourth and had the same thought about not doing anything. Having a fever means immune system was fighting. Day four I gave up and got a ten pass ozone-fever and aches have been gone since-although my body temp seems to be a little higher than usual for me 97.2 usual and now 98. no clue if that good or bad but this flu could be what we need.

WV Mike, so sorry. Like you needed something else besides lyme??

On the news they sure are showing a lot of flu this year and many are saying that they did get the shot. That just means that the bug mutated so it would survive or the lab techs guessed at the wrong flu bug that would be going around.

I've had some sort of flu/virus this week. I woke up at 3AM Monday morning and was vomiting all day Tuesday and even passed out twice. Once at the doctors office.

They gave me a shot for the nausea that didn't help at all, just made me exhausted, and set me home.

I was out of work all week besides Monday. Feeling better today, but still really dizzy which could just be good ole lyme. rolleyes

Please everyone be super careful with this flu!! They got the vaccine wrong this year, and it only covers 2 out of the 3 strains going around - and the one that they 'missed' is a dangerous one!!!

And, as was already pointed out - our immune systems are not doing well!! So, if you have the flu and think you *may* need to go in to the ER or an Urgent Care Center - PLEASE DO! This is not something to wait around with. Healthy people are NOT doing very good with this strain, so we need to be even more careful and watchful.

And many positive thoughts to everyone dealing with this flu! I hope you recover quickly - having these infections is more than enough!

This is the worst year I can remember!

Many schools are closing it’s so bad. The kids are exposed daily to so much at the school and daycare.

I feel like an old woman lol, I’ve got humidifiers going, pots of water simmering on the stove for more humidity. Little steamers of eucalyptus on high. I’ve shifted from thieves sprays to Cans of Lysol spray always in action. Clorox wipes in every room.

That stomach virus nearly killed me and the fear of the big flu has me freaking out. I hear my husband in the other room coughing and hacking, I guess I need to dig out a mask

Everyone in our house is on big c and an airborne chaser.

I hope you all stay well and if you do get these extra bugs you clear them quickly.

Thanks all. Called doc, had to go in for a few bags of saline and some high test cough med. Still rocking the fever but feeling a little better. Been in bed with the dog since Wednesday. She's basically laid in bed with me since this whole lyme ordeal started. Both dogs, 11 and 10 year old shiba inus, have been great company but foxy my red one hasn't left my side in 10 months. Hope you are feeling better Nic.

Oh that's so funny, mu cattle dog stayed by my side also the whole time I was sick. Its amazing how our pets know we arnt well.



I am over the worst part of the flu and back to work but be prepared I still get very tired from having it.
