I started having lucid dreams with sleep paralysis in high school. At the time, it was very infrequent. Once in a blue moon. The frequency of these events has increased since the lyme symptoms started popping up - about two years ago. Maybe a little more. They now happen all the time.
Scenario: I'm asleep. I suddenly realize I'm dreaming and want to wake up. I can't. My body won't move and I'm overcome with panic. Sometimes I hear odd noises (whispering, chattering, high pitched tones). I try to call my husband, but obviously can't talk. I struggle and struggle until I finally wake up sore and even more tired than before. They only happen in the daytime. Never at night.
I have tried NOT struggling. I have tried to embrace the lucid dreams and have, in some, flown around my apartment. In these dreams, I can never leave my apartment. It's so weird, but I'm always home. Always in my own house.
I still find myself panicking because I can't wake up or move, even though I know what's going on and can occasionally control them. They're still terrifying. As a result, I don't nap during the day if I can help it and I'm not resting. Changing positions doesn't help. They happen no matter how I sleep. Like today, I'm exhausted and want to sleep, but just can't. I can't do those dreams, they're so tiring and my body is sore after.
Does anyone have any insight or cures? Herbs? Essential oils? Something. I can't take it anymore. Does this happen to anyone else?
