June 2017 I developed a perfect bullseye rash on my forearm. Went to urgent care, tested positive for lyme, and was put on doxycycline. Found a LLMD right away, took doxy, nystatin and probiotics for 6 weeks. At this point I had joint pain, mostly in my knees, muscle weakness in arms, twitching and pressure in throat. All symptoms were gone almost instantly after starting treatment....rash was gone within 2 weeks. about
a month after stopping treatment knee pain, neck pressure returned...this time with throbbing, tingling and heart palpitations. Had leftover doxy, so took it for another two weeks...all symptoms disappeared. 2 months later, come January 2018 fell sick with what seemed like a flu, knee pain started....Throat pressure, and muscle cramps and spasms, twitching. Went to doc, was put on plaquenil and doxy for 30 days. All hell broke loose, and have not felt right since. Heart palps, tingling in hands and feet, crawling sensations, numbness, on and off pain everywhere, lower back pain becomes unbearable. Chills, can't get comfortable in any temp. Almost constant on and off pressure in head, ringing and pressure in ears, sound and light sensitivity, off balance, dizzy spells. Stiff legs, hard to walk. Come and go brain fog, where I can heardly hold a normal conversation. Worsening anxiety and mood swings. Shaking that can last hours, burning stabbing sensations in feet. Feels like someone breaks glass on hands and feet and side of head. Jaw pain. All comes and goes. But pretty consistently hits at some point throughout every day...feels the worst in the morning. Was put on a night shift in late November and was experiencing insomnia during the day right before I started feeling ill again...Not sure if this could have caused and kind of relapse? The last doctor who put me on doxy said it was most likely a herx reaction. But its been a month....so went to another infectious disease doctor. He did blood work and said I do not have lyme because 2 weeks of doxy should have knocked that out....Also said everything in my blood is normal. Went to a neurologist for another opinion yesterday and was told I do not have lyme because 2 weeks should have knocked that out, and I probably never had it because a second blood test showed up negative. They are testing blood again, for lyme and possible coinfections (which I have never been tested for) and other vitamin definciencies. Scared that everything will be normal...because I don't think I can handle feeling this way much longer. Ran out of doxy and plaquenil and feel worse than ever....Started some herbs, cats claw, grapefruit seed extract, larginine, reservratrol, and turmeric and feel like Ive been run over by a bus...mentally I am not all there anymore. New doc wants me to stop all treatments...Scared that this will do more harm then good. Getting depressed as my options are seeming less and less. Is it possible for lyme to linger like this??? Before my diagnosis, I have had horrible mood swings....anxiety, and random days of joint pain...in hands, legs and neck for most of my teenage years, always thought it was terrible PMS and I did too much physical work etc. Could the rash have come on late, never saw a tick?
