Minocycline one or two

Minocycline is prescribed 100mg twice a day. I would like to know the average life of the mine. They say that to be effective it must have high concentrations in blood, then ... would not 200mg be better than once a day?

The half-life is 11-16 hours or 11-22 hours - I've seen both.

So, it's not a really short half-life.

I've not known anyone to take the 200 mg once daily.

If you take it 12 hours apart...you still have half of the previous dose in your blood most likely. (by the time you take the second dose)

I would stick to 100 twice daily unless a LLMD is telling you otherwise.

My Llmd said it it was ok to take 200mg at once if I could tolerate it.

I do this in the evening which makes it easier to keep up with probiotics the rest of the time
