Dessicated Thyroid Herx???

My LLMD recently put me on 3/4 grain of nature throid for my under active thyroid. Since starting I have had an increase in symptoms.

Is it normal to have an increase in Lyme symptoms when starting thyroid medication or is this likely side effects?

Low thyroid hormones will suppress the immune system, it could be a herx if the symptoms are consistent with the infections.

What you are feeling in most likely thyroid symptoms, not lyme symptoms when starting thyroid meds with T3 in them. The symptoms can feel very similar. The body is very very touchy with T3 med. Any increase or decrease can be felt.

If your adrenals are wacko (most likely) starting thyroid med with T3 in it can be more difficult resulting in symptoms.

I also developed thyroid problems when I got Lyme, and several of the symptoms were actually thyroid symptoms, I later learned.

As Astroman said (he's the expert), it is probably be from the meds increasing your thyroid hormone, which can take a while to get right and even out.
