Does Bart produce herx/ hout challenge

Have started houttania in low doses working up. Was thinking I'd see if react then continue treatment... then I thought maybe it doesn't work that way with Bart and babs like it does with Lyme. Maybe there is no worsening of symptoms. I just ordered some Bart and bab herbs... thinkning I could challenge for a reaction then treat if I get reaction. Maybe instead I'll just treat. Is there an order to go . Bart or babs first. Doing herbs. IHA or CSA plus will add more of each protocol. Thanks

I know some Docs will say you don’t herx from bart/Babs Treatment but I don’t think they’re right

I’ve experienced a temporary increase in symptoms when treating both those.

Re: order in which to treat. That depends on who you talk to.
I know that LLMD JJ says treat Babesia first (after a stabilization period) and I have heard Dr H talk about a patient he had who wasn’t getting better after a long time treating. She was asymptomatic for Babesia. He then treated her with Babs meds and she got well (rather quickly )

You may need to treat both Babs and Bart - and with herbs that won’t be too difficult.
Sida acuta is used for both.
In addition to houttuynia for Bart , you could also add in Cryptolepis for Babesia.
(One at a time)

Are you taking Japanese knotweed?

That’s the beauty of herbs - you can mix and match and treat all three B’s together.

I DEFINITELY herxed while treating Bart. I started with immune supporting herbs and then added in Hout. I initially had cat scratch marks appear on the abdomen (never had those before) and a crushing depression descend. Lasted about a week as I worked up on the dosage.

I just think that there is so much that doctors do not know or understand about these diseases.

I herx from Bartonella. I also had marks appear during the herx.
Im slowly healing Bart on the Buhner protocol.

Only thing is now that I am getting the Bart better, last week some minor babesia symptoms came back.

Dang.

Trying to Understant this herx thing. Still new on this. If the scratches are a symptom caused by live bartonella, how can die off cause the same symptoms?

My llmd told me but i don't know if he's right that bart herx are not true bart die off, maybe lyme herxes... but how i say n.. i don't know about it.

LJohn23, I am better, but not healed. I am only on day 53 of bart protocol.

Flares for me last longer. I think this was a herx because I took Hout and within minutes scratches would appear and then disappear after two hours. The depression would descend for a good three hours and then the "sun" would come out again. I would be fine until I took the next dosage. This went on for a week. Now I do not have a problem with it.

If by herx you mean worsened or new symptoms, then YES.

Bartonella does a lot of weird and painful stuff.

Houtty and sida acuta both cause increased/new symptoms for me.

Yes I'm on knotweed.
Green dragon core... I will treat both... I will piece together ...

I believe the hout is having some effect but I was also in middle of a neuro flare (am anxiety/ brain fog) so I don't know what's what at moment...
