Anyone else in a lot of pain? My veins feel like there on fire at times.

Pain is my major symptom.

i have nerve pain....I can handle the joint pain...muscle pain (which is mostly gone now) but that dang nerve pain...is horrid.

My nerve pain has almost entirely gone away with treatment. Hang in there guys, you can get better from it! It may take a lot of antibiotics, but it is possible. Also, before I knew I had Lyme my neurologist put me on a small dose of amitriptyline to help with the nerve pain. It won't help cure you, but it may help relieve your symptoms. It made mine better while I was on it.

Noah - are you off the amitriptyline now?


I was prescribed Gabapentin plus another epilepsy med....I tried the gaba but didn't want to take both of them...the gaba didn't help.

would you mind sharing the small dosage amount?

I haven't looked it up - is it an anti-depressant used off label for nerve pain?

It's an antidepressant at high dose, and an anti-nerve pain at low dose. I was on a pediatric dose, the smallest they give. I think it was 10mg. At that low dose it usually doesn't have side effects too, which is nice. I'm not on it anymore because it can interact with Azithromycin, which I've been taking since January when I was diagnosed. But maybe I'll go back on it if I need to sometime down the line.

I remember my veins hurting a little bit but I'm not sure what I attributed to. I don't think I took anything specific to make them feel better.

Are you taking anything for inflammation or analgesics?
