Thanks for sharing! Slate doesn't have a great track record with lyme (usual angle is chronic lyme denial), but Julie did a great job with this article. She is an awesome person, comes from the CFS community. There are a lot of parallels with chronic lyme and cfs patient communities and their marginalization by the mainstream medical communities/powerbrokers.

The article could represent a shift in their view on it, and it has tons of citations too. Good citations.

I hope so, I think how it is presented in the media landscape is slowly shifting. I mean, it's hard to say, but my impression is things are going in the right direction!

I didn't really get that feeling from it, it just sounded like the author was trying to be nonbiased in her approach. Her ultimate conclusion was decidedly anti-cdc and everyone who claims that Chronic Lyme doesn't exist.

Hopefully this signals an overall sea change in attitudes towards Lyme and Co and friends.

I hope so too. I don't expect this to trigger a tidal wave of popular support for the cause, but rather I just wanted to share some good news with everyone. Change may be incremental and it may take a while, but it IS happening.
