Your thoughts on the CD57 test

Doing some research on my blood work & I came across Cd57 which was low in me (44) I was just curious to everybody’s opinion about this test. I find a lot on the web about it & most people believe it’s from chronic Lyme but then there are some saying it isn’t certain. I know it’s used to help aid a Lyme diagnosis but does anybody here get blood work to check & see if that number has elevated?

I read where most people’s number will increase with treatment & is a guide to show you how close you are to remission.

But I’ve also read that some instances people will have a low count & be believed to be in remission.

I know I’m not gonna get a certain answer for this but I just wanted to see if anybody tracks there number & if so has it increased with treatment. Thank you all.

Right, that’s a lot of what I see on the web. Some people find it useful & others don’t. If you just type in, what is cd57 it automatically pulls up a million things about Lyme disease.

Just because most Drs dont understand CD57, dont halt your own health and curiosity there.

CD57 really is not an idicator of lyme , but a direct indicator of immune system cell levels: white blood cells as in T, B and Natural killer cells. One or all if low, could be from lyme or other reasons. You need these to fight off infection.

I would sugest looking at T, B and killer cell levels - its in the Quest test "menu book". Also test immunoglobulins I, G and A.

Also look at your globulin level on your regular CMP (comprehensive metabolic panel), , it might be low.
