Yes - no harm in retesting and possibly getting a positive. But try to get the WB IgM and IgG.
Elisa tests have a higher false negative rate.
You’re doing good DAD - sorry if it sounds like I’m jumping all over this - it’s just that we see people who under treat or just let it go and then they’re back here because they are sick. And when it’s children in particular - it is heartbreaking .
the WB IgM and IgG tests...
Does anyone have experience with these tests. I am now asking for myself. Is it something I could possibly just ask my GP about
? I have one (GP) but I only see him, well never. So it might be that I can ask him about
them and see if he is willing to order these tests. I will continue to search for a LLMD in or around my area. I'm not object to travelling for treatment for my daughter or myself if needed.
Just another question... always more questions...
Is it unheard of for someone to go into Remission without antibiotic treatment of Lyme? Does anyone tuning into this thread that has experience or knows of experiences of this? Obviously this is hard for me to grasp given I've never presented with anything but the EM and it was so long ago. Again, I understand in many cases that Lyme can present even further down the road.
On another note, I started taking Astragalus this AM. I've been fortunate with a relatively bulletproof immune system my entire life (and I believe this was handed down to my daughter) and our diet and lifestyle is generally healthy.
Thanks again for all the information thus far. I will continue to monitor this thread and others, and update as I have more information and/or questions.
