Neuro symptoms tingling etc How long

HI,

I am probably the exception but I have been sick for five years and the tingling in my face has never resolved despite aggressive antibiotic and heral protocols. This said, no two of us are the same so it could be that your tingling resolves with proper treatment much quicker than mine. I can say that my neuro symptoms have gotten better with treatment but I remain on several antibiotics as when I stop, my neuro symptoms rage.

Since first becoming sick, I have strictly followed Dr. Burrascano's diet recommendations as when I deviate my neuro symptoms become much worse. There are however many people who are sick that do not seem to be effected by the foods that they eat or drinks they consume. Again, another example of how these diseases impact people differently. It sure would be nice though to be able to eat some fruit once in a while or perhaps some honey but for me its just not worth it.

I have tried various herbal protocols (Byron White, Cowden, Beyond Balance) hyperbaric oxygen chamber, ozone, peptides, b12 injections, liposomal glutathione, liposomal curcumin and a truck load of supplements. The truth of the matter is for me the only thing that puts a dent in my neuro symptoms are the antibiotics. Although I am happy that I can take antibiotics to minimize my symptoms, I wish it were something more natural like herbals as who wants to take multiple antibiotics long term?


I have grown very tired of hearing the IDSA/CDC perspective of how there is no "evidence" to support the long term use of antibiotics as they do not reduce pain or improve outcomes for people with "PTLDS". Quite frankly this is BS and I would be happy to prove it to any member of the IDSA/CDC by taking any test they can develop. If I am late taking a dose of my meds or perhaps miss a dose my symptoms rage. The powers that be attribute this to the anti inflammatory properties of antibiotics but this is not the case. I reluctantly met with an infectious disease doc a couple of years ago and asked him to what degree do antibiotics reduce inflammation and he said "minimally". I said "minimally" as in like naproxen and he said "less than that"

Sorry for the rant and digression, I just know that long term antibiotics are really the only thing that has allowed me to continue working and functioning. DSrouillard and Ashleylynn, outside of the tingling, what other neuro symptoms do you have and what have you found that helps you?

thats one of things i have been struggling to gauge with regard to treatment length. i.e. how do you differentiate a persistent symptom versus a symptom that is simply from damage done by the infection or treatment.

for example, you hear a lot of treat until symptoms resolve, then some other cases you hear people say that they finished treatment, then some months later a persistent symptom resolved.

i guess its a fine line.

I've had tingling and buzzing in my legs for months. I realized yesterday, though, that it's much better right now. (Meanwhile, some other symptoms are else.)

It seems like everyone has different situations, it is a scary thing these Neuro symptoms. If I get any relief from any of my treatment I will share it all with you.

I've had Lyme peripheral neuropathy in my feet for about 10 years now. It has ranged from a minor nuisance when I feel 90 to 95% healed, to a 5 out of 10 pain level when I relapse. It's something you gotta just live with.

So it sounds like it's not permanent damage...though if you feel it less when you've healed 90-95%
