I'm not sure what that shot is. I did have PneumoVax vaccine in 2015 for the same reason you mentioned.
In April 2015, my chronic Lyme (unknown at the time) went full blown after getting bronchitis. In October 2015, I went to see the allergist because I knew that something was very wrong with my immune system and I wanted to know why. I learned very quickly that allergists are NOT immunologists despite what their titles and organizational affiliations may imply. The allergist re-tested me for allergies via skin prick and blood tests. Skin prick - I reacted to eveything, including the saline control and was told it was invalid due to dermatographia. Blood tests were negative. I pushed, so he checked my pneumonia titers and said they were low and suggested the PneumoVax followed by a retest 4 weeks later. I agreed even though I had reservations about
all vaccines (based on intuition at the time, as I was not yet educated on vaccine issues). When I retested, I was told my pneumonia titers had increased, indicating that my immune system responded to the vaccine.
In August 2016, I saw a Functional MD who did many tests, and I had unusually high IGG titers for mycoplasma pneumonia and chlamydia pneumonia and positive IGM titers for chlamydia p. In April 2018, I was retested. Myco came down some but still too high. Chlamydia IGG and IGM came down but still positive.
I do not have sufficient knowledge of vaccines nor immunity to advise on whether it is a good idea or not. However, if I were in the same boat right now, I would not do it.
This is a good question for Georgia Hunter. He has done research on vaccines.
