Hi I will be meeting my very first LLMD on Tuesday. I’m terrified. My friend told me that the doctor is not a friendly person. Is there anything I for sure need to bring up at my appointment? Any advice would be great.

Make a list of questions.
Also, do you have a list of your symptom timeline? That's useful as well.
Try not to rely on your memory...but have notes with you.
Some questions to ask:
- How does he determine which coinfections to treat.
- How often are the appointments.
(sorry, my mind is blank - but there is a list in the "new to Lyme?...Start Here!" thread of questions you can go through and right some down)
consider taking someone with you for second set of ears.

-walk through symptom chronology
-order lab testing
-prescribe meds u can get started on right away
Make sure you bring all your latest lab work and have your list of questions ready. Maybe go with somebody to help take notes for you if you aren't feeling too well.
Hope it goes well.

What I did when I first started seeing my llmd: I wrote up a short timeline history of my health and health issues. I listed the symptoms I was dealing with, tried to be as comprehensive as possible but with emphasis on the most important/strongest symptoms.
Like others mentioned, it's a good idea to write out the questions you might have. Some questions I'd have for the first time I see an llmd: after reviewing my health history what will the treatment strategies be? will there be a certain emphasis on certain infections? (I presume they will want to order some tests to get a clearer idea). Do they rotate/improvise protocols when patient plateaus or doesn't respond to therapy, or herxes too much, or isn't seeing improvement after some time? Personally I like to know the doctor will be willing to improvise, as these infections often require quite a bit of trial and error. Also, does the doctor start off with a conservative approach or do they go full blast right out the gate? I prefer conservative approaches. Do they mostly focus on pharmaceutical approach, or do they also use herbs or other alternative approaches?
Good luck with your appointment! I know it can all be kind of overwhelming, so don't worry if you aren't able to ask everything you'd like. You'll get a feel over time if this llmd is the right fit for you and your case. Time usually tells with these things.

Don't feel to pressed to make important decisions. If you feel like there is something really important, that you can't decide on, ask to call back with your decision later. But this only works in certain situations.
I have a hard time making decisions, and a lot of times when I'm going to buy something expensive, I ask them to put it on hold, and go to a different store for a while, and then come back and decide if I want to buy it or not.
