Need thoughts on this ..herx or reaction

Not sure what is happening would appreciate any thought on this.

about a week and a half ago started to have dental work for a crown .

Tooth nerve ended up being dead and then slight infection.

They wanted to do root canal. I choose extraction .

When administered the Novocaine(epinephrine), I had heart flutter/panic type reaction. Dentist says this can happen to some people. Lasted for a bit, then tooth was pulled.
Started ammoxicillin 500 mg 2X day and Ibuprofen on Saturday.
I continued taking all my regular herbals/supplements also.

Today after work around 5 p.m.became jittery, felt like I would pass out(feeling like Used to have from Lyme and co 2 years ago), throat closing feeling and then chills. What the heck...

Im thinking herxing from the ammoxicllin???, but still worried about reaction at dentist office but that was 3 days ago.

I just took activated charcoal in case of herx.

One thing I do know is I never want to feel like I used to with Lyme and co ever again. Not sure how I made it through all of those horrible neuro symptoms.

Just having this happen tonight, seems to have brought fear/panic back about Lyme and co.

Worried since I've been heavily treating Bartonella for the last year, but taking the ammoxiclliin tells me that lots of Lyme is still left too deal with.

Im so close to being better, just a few minor symptoms left until this tonight.

I'm so sorry to hear that. The important thing to remember is your baseline has been quite good right?! so no matter what, you really are a lot better regardless of this episode. Even if this is a herx (it does sound like a herx, especially if it is drawing out old symptoms), it doesn't mean you will lose all the ground you gained. You could do a slow steady approach at trying to further draw down the lyme pathogen load. The throat closing feeling sounds quite scary, I'd keep an eye on that response.

Have you ever been on amoxicillin before? it could be an effective drug for your lyme and might give you an avenue to pursue for further healing (that is if you want to pursue more abx treatment). Although if it makes you herx too much it might not be feasible to take if you have a lot of responsibilities (work, family, etc). How many days are you supposed to take this medication?

I'm so sorry about all this. You've been through quite an ordeal. I honestly think it's a herx from the amoxycillin if it's the same symptoms you used to have. You started the Rx on Saturday and had the symptoms on Monday, the 3rd day. Sounds like a herx to me.

I've been on Augmentin twice in the last year for other things. While I don't recall herxing noticeably while on it, I had horribly worsened symptoms after finishing it, especially body pain and muscle fatigue. I still don't understand why. I had those symptoms for months afterwards.

Try to stay calm and not worry about what will happen. Take it one day at a time and remember how far you've come. If this takes you on a little detour, you'll get back on track. I'll keep you in my prayers.
