Last night I woke up at 4:00 am with severe dizziness, sweating, pain in shoulder blade. Struggled to get to restroom, then lost balance.
Not sure how long I was there, but woke up covered in sweat and so dizzy/nauseated I tried to throw up. Also had chills. Made it back to bedroom, slowly, and changed. Laid down and felt better, but very cold and still nauseated.
I have not changed anything in what I am taking except added zithromax about
four days ago, but did not take it yesterday. Only starting at about
125 mg (half of a 250) as I struggle with meds. Also waiting on more kidney tests.
Can reflux cause something like that? Lyme and co-infections. Had similar experience 7 years ago, but nothing close since.
Has anyone experienced anything like that? Concerned it may be kidney issue, but have no idea. The kidney specialist suggested I go to ER, but all they have ever done is blow off Lyme Disease and won't get into kidney function.
Suggestions? Very lost on this.

This sounds like a heart issue to me. I would suggest going to a cardiologist asap, and please go to the ER if it happens again. I'm glad you're ok now.

It could also possibly be a babesia herx, zith can hit that infection and it has a long half-life. The dizziness, sweating, insomnia are common babs symptoms... and I know Girlie mentioned she gets shoulder blade pain when she herxes to the babesia meds...

So much in the mix. Lyme, kidneys. Just trying to sort it out. Thanks for responses.
This happened once before I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. It was very similar to what happened last night. Kidney specialist said she does not think it is kidney related, but just don't know. Lyme and co infections can do so much, but it is all becoming mixed.

The overload of toxins can come even after stopping the abx especially with Zithromax long half life - as sebreg mentioned.
But good idea to get checked out since it was a severe reaction .

Do you think that little amount of zith can do that? Have been on it before but not reacted like that. Guess will try detoxing more.

It could be a herx, but those symptoms can all be from heart attack. I would go to the ER to get checked out. Better safe than sorry. I know a guy who died at 37 from a heart attack. Very physically active, slim, looked like picture of health. He left work and went to the ER because he didn't feel right. They checked him out and sent him home. Next morning, he had a massive heart attack and died.

That's a good point, ER would be a safe play just to check for your heart (and check on kidney worries). Zith can mess with qt interval. I know it sucks to go to ER when it comes to these diseases. But it would be worth it just for peace of mind and to hedge against anything serious.
Yeah, I think one can herx on that level of dosing. Sometimes if we haven't taken something in a while it can give us quite a bit of a herx. But when it comes to your worries I think it's a good idea to rule out other issues beyond a herx.

The urgent care can do EKG, so I am heading there after practice - to be safe. The fact I had almost exact thing happen before gives me an indicator it might be Lyme related. Also, I had a headache for a a few hours after I went to bed, so migraine also could be there.
But even migraines go back to Lyme with me. Never had a headache, not even sinus, in my life until Lyme Disease. Funny thing is, the kidneys make me more nervous than Lyme.
