Anyone was floxed with a quinolone and being simultaneouslly treating with other abxs? For example: Cipro/minocin/biaxin or Levaquin/doxy etc.... anyone had a bad reaction and later could not tolerante the abx that took with fql? Fluoroquinolones damage body by two ways... causing direct damage from tissues, directly when fql is on blood... causing decreased blood flow into ligaments etc... damaging blood vessels, disrubting gaba receptors etc... activating MMP that destroy collagen etc... causing severe pshyquiatric symptoms by damage to blood brain barrieron and hypothalamus etc... but when when fql is outside the body... the damage can continue and even worsening that it's causes by a severe inmune response triggered by fql... but my question is... when moxi and minocin/clarithromycin were in blood and my body had a bad reaction to quinolones, could be posible that it didn't know if it was the moxifloxacin, minocycline o clarithromycin? And mistaking it, i continued taking minocin/biaxin in August and my symptoms worsened maybe because my body was creating inmune complexes attacking abx and causing tissues damage? Is it posible?

Question shortened is... Can inmune system be so rude that can not diferentiate between quinolones and minocycline? Attacking minocycline every time because it was between the war of moxi and my body...?

Or another possibility could be that some organs and tissues are weakened by damage of moxifloxacin and when i have herxes the damage is more pronunciated... and i experience the previous symptoms... In that case stop/restart/stop/restart abx would be a bad decission

I would like to use this post to "educate" (i don't know the exactlly word, i'm from Spain, don't confuse it with a teacher jejej) that avoid any quinolone under any situation except if you are dying from a sepsis... and if it's possible avoid cousins like mefloquine, chloroquine, and hydroxychloroquine... We can not say that they are not quinolones... If the first compound of quinolones was discovered fron chloroquine; nacilidix acid.... in less amounts it's inside lariam/plaquenil etc...

A lyme patient is a multisistemic ill person with mixed issues mimicking reumathoid artritis, myastenia gravis, ALS, multiple esclerosis, heart problems etc... if you read fql vademecum people that have to avoid quinolones are people that suffer from reumathic dissease... heart problems, neurological problems... in other words giving a quinolone to a lyme patient is a nuclear bomb... and yes, it's possible that you say i had lyme and i took a quinolone and i feel wonderfull... but it's less than 1%...

OriolCarol - I have never heard that when you are floxed while taking a fluoroquinolone plus other abx...that when you go back to the other abx...you get the floxing happening.

I don't think the body confuses the mino or the biaxin as a fluoroquinolone.

Did you read that somewhere?


We have a member - haven't seen her post for awhile...she was floxed and I think she went on abx afterwards...I don't know if they were the same ones she took with the fluoroquinolone though.

I may be able to find some of her posts.

Magnesium and high dose vit c ivs may help emensly...check out pk protocol ...!

Btw bvt corrects th1 and th2 levels if you are truley worried about auto-immune response to the abx ,herx or bugs ...you can pm over at lymenet if you need to
