Sinus infection lingering -- resistence?

Hi Dahlias. I had 3 sinus infections last year and get them every year. Abx resistance is a big concern as I notice it getting tougher and tougher to get rid of these infections. Amoxicillin, Augmentin and Biaxin all don't work anymore which is a big concern. I had to resort to using Levaquin until it started to hit my Achilles tendon.

Can you take Bactrim? That worked for me last month.

The product seems to have quite a few positive reviews.

After spending the weeks of Christmas and New Year hammered by a bad cold, I had lingering sinus issues. I could smell the sickness when inhaling and I kept discharging "gunk" when blowing my nose.

In such previous cases, a NeilMed Sinus Rinse (http://shop.neilmed.com/products/sinus-rinse) had helped quite a lot. It wasn't a panacea, but several sinus flushes a day really helped mobilize the "gunk" in my sinuses and helped relieve some of the pressure in my face and ears. This time, though, it did nothing.

Over the following days, I made multiple trips to Whole Foods Market to buy (and return) various "Cold & Flu" products that did nothing for me. Several days later, by the time I found the above nasal spray, thankfully, my sinuses were finally clearing-out and the pressure in my face and ears was diminishing.

Since the nasal spray product was going to take several days for delivery, I didn't buy it. The next time, though, I plan to try it and the throat spray.

I use a neti pot and Alkalol nasal rinse, it's like snorting a line of crushed Altoids.

The Seagate product looks interesting. I wonder if it's the preservative in it that does the killing. It's the same substance that was found in grapefruit seed extract after all the processing of it. So far nothing I've tried prevents them including Sinuorega and Xlear. Maybe I'll give this a shot. Thanks Dude for the suggestion. Hope it works for you Dahlias!

Zimica, really interesting points. I've been feeling like yeast is becoming an issue, and I also have a spot in my upper jaw that we've been watching for possible infection. Will up the GSE and look into adding EOs to the nasal rinse.

Dude, they have arrived. I was out all day yesterday but plan to try the sinus rise in the morning and then the olive leaf one. I happened to have the olive leaf one with me Friday afternoon when I took my daughter to her functional/integrative LLMD (grabbed the mail and went). I asked the LLMD about it, and she said it's a good product.

The infection is much better, but I still feel a little pressure/ irritation/ gunk. I am really looking forward to trying this stuff. (Taking a few more days of doxy too. Really don't want a resistant infection a few inches from my brain.)

I'll read more about that, astroman. I'm cautious about taking nattokinase because I gave myself a huge flare with it back at the beginning, but I could take it more than I do. And I don't know much about serrapeptase.

Dude, I finally used the NeilMed sinus rinse. It's not fun but I feel so degunkified. This must be good for preventing infection since there's less stuff just sitting there. I'm definitely a convert -- thank you!!

That would be about 30 symptoms for me... some have been gone for over two years.... I don’t want to see them again!!
