Hey all! I am looking for help. I was diagnosed with MS 15 years ago but the last two years I have crashed hard. Joint pain, stiffness, swelling, muscle loss, gaining fat, blurry vision, heart palpations, etc. I am starting to think I was misdiagnosed. The amount of info out there is overwhelming and extremely scary. I have no idea what to do but I want to take action because I can’t just sit here and get worse. I can’t get into a doctor any time soon and I don’t even know if it will help.

What can I do RIGHT NOW to help things?? I see thee different herbal protocols and am thinking that’s a good first course of action but I can’t find a description of these protocols and instructions for them. Any help???

Hi Cassandra, welcome to our community.

you mentioned a Dr. Are you going to be seeing a LLMD? (lyme literate Dr) - Otherwise I wouldn't bother.
You could see a regular Dr. to get tested though. One of the best labs is Igenex. You can call them and order the kit.


You could start on Buhner's protocols. He has written books on each infection. It's a popular herbal treatment here.
To start, you could go to the HealingLyme website. Buhner doesn't run it anymore...but the basic protocols on it can be a great start.

Buy a few tinctures or capsules - here are some of the recommended sources (by Buhner)

- Woodland Essence
- Green Dragon Botanicals
- Sage Woman Apothecary


When you get the tinctures (or caps) - start one herb at a time...and just a few drops...in case there's a reaction.

Then a week later, you can add in the second herb - a few drops.

etc.

Slowly build up - those tinctures....if you have a reaction - ie herxheimer...you can up your detoxing methods - if that doesn't help...then lower the dose until the herx is alleviated...

If you want to get tested...you can do that prior to seeing a LL Dr. If you have a Dr. willing to sign off on a lab req.

You tick off the tests you want done, and get your Dr. to sign the lab req.

The best bang for your buck is the Lyme WB IgM and IgG . I think it's $250.

I am trying to get in with the only LLMD but I haven’t been accepted as a patient yet so lord only knows when I’ll be seen.

I will check in with the igenex test. I’ve seen that as a good test in my research.

Is the igenex western blot different than the western blot that would be done by the doctor?

Copaxone is not an immune suppressant. Thank goodness! I thought it was keeping symptoms at bay but things have been progressing since last spring. It did reduce some of my spinal lesions so that’s great.

I think I need to order the test kit. I believe I found a LLMD in Houston who takes insurance which would be amazing. Dr S is her name.

so it does affect immune system.. Isn't MS considered an autoimmune disease? Generally with those, immune suppression drugs is prescribed...no?

No - you're not screwed. You can wean off it with the help of a Doctor.

Another thing you can do right now is make sure you are not being exposed to mold or water damaged buildings. Exposure to mold and toxins found in water damaged buildings can also cause the symptoms you described.
