Hello, Dmitry:
I'm certain you know more about
this topic than I do, so I'm curious if you see any problems with a meat-only diet? Specifically, I'm talking about
a fat-dominant, protein-rich, zero-carbohydrate diet like Charlene and Joe Andersen follow. (
i.e.very fatty ribeyes and water only)
1.) Do you see that as a viable and healthy diet for everyone? And, following it long-term without any other foods or supplements?
2.) Also, if a person doesn't have a chronic health condition, do you still view fiber (any/all plant foods) as unhealthy? Or, at least unnecessary?
Recently, I listened to a podcast interview of Alex Leaf, MS, CISSN (a researcher for examine.com) on the topic of protein. He was asked
"...if there is any link between animal protein consumption or protein more broadly and cancer and longevity?" His response was
"...there is not convincing data that those levels of protein intake have adverse events on longevity, health or other aspects of health, including the cancer stuff you mentioned. There is not any convincing data that protein itself causes cancer. Certainly, eating a bunch of protein can facilitate the growth of cancer once it’s been established in the body, but it won’t cause that cancer to be there to begin with."3.) Have you any thoughts on protein facilitating the growth of a pre-established cancer? (Although the interviewer specifically asked about
"animal protein," Alex did not specifically state whether his response was regarding animal protein, plant protein, or both.)
4.) What would be a good diet for someone with an established cancer? Would it be a zero-carb (zero-plant) diet with only meat/animal products?
Any feedback you're willing to share will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
The Dude
